OPERATION Prime Mover will hit the Mount Lindesay Highway over the next two days.
Jimboomba police acting officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Darren Ward said police would conduct patrols from the Mount Lindesay Highway Service Road, near Camp Cable Road to monitor traffic.
“We will be doing vehicle inspections and are targeting heavy vehicles, alcohol and drug affected drivers, the large volume of traffic on the Mount Lindesay Highway and reduced speed zones in and out at school times,” he said.
The operation comes just three weeks after a series of road-side police patrols during Road Safety Week from August 27 to 31.
More than 500 infringements were issued during the crackdown, including 186 motorists fined for speeding, eight people caught not wearing a seatbelt and 14 drivers detected using mobile phones.
