LOGAN will host the Queensland State Netball League finals this weekend in a coup for the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre.
The on-court action for Queensland’s premier netball competition kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, September 15, with two divisional titles and an under-19s premiership up for grabs.
Lifestyle and community committee chair Cr Steve Swenson said hosting the QSNL finals was a coup made possible by council’s investment in sporting facilities.
Logan City Council venues include the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre, the Cornubia Park Sports Centre and Mt Warren Park Sports Centre.
“The on-court action promises to be exciting and I encourage anyone interested to come down and watch some of the state’s most promising netballers in action,” Cr Swenson said.
“The week after that, we’ll also be hosting the Champion Basketball School of Queensland event from September 21 to 23.
“That’s another big event that will have more than 120 secondary school students, with teachers, friends and family in tow.
“It’s another example of Logan attracting top quality sporting events.”
The QSNL under-19s grand final will start at 2pm, Division 2 at 4pm with Division 1 6pm finals to follow.
The Champion Basketball School of Queensland event will be held at the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre, the Cornubia Park Sports Centre and Mt Warren Park Sports Centre.
