GREENBANK Raiders Rugby League Club have signed off for another season.
Club president John Benvenuti congratulated all teams from under 6s to 17s, the women's team, open men’s and masters for an outstanding season.
“Special mention to under 12s division two, 15s division two, our 16s division two, 17s division one and open men's division two for making it to the finals rounds in each of your competitions and for doing yourselves and our club proud,” he said.
“You each provided exciting exchanges with each of the teams you came up against.”
Three Raiders teams made it through to grand finals with the open men defeating Logan Brothers. They also won the Ted Beaumont challenge and secured themselves southside champions for 2018.
Mr Benvenuti said it was a massive effort for the 12s and 16s who played with all their heart and soul in grand final matches on the weekend. The 12s went down to Sunnybank in a nailbiter 10-6 and the 16s took on Holy Spirit playing hard right until the final siren but, sadly, they went down 28-6.
“Greenbank wishes to thank all our players, families, volunteers, match officials, sponsors and our tough competitors for a successful 2018 season,” he said.
“We can't wait to see you all again in 2019.”
