FOUR Flagstone State Community College students will test their dragster design skills at a state level in September.
Year nine industrial technology students Amy Maher, Hailey Griffiths, Junior Howard-Tauhiki and Sam (last name withheld) will travel to Maryborough to compete in the Fraser Coast Technology Challenge from September 14 to 16.
The students designed and built the fastest carbon dioxide powered dragsters over a 20 metre track during their lessons over the past couple of months.
This means they will compete against students from Queensland and North NSW schools.
Ryan Porter and Braedyn Cidoni won the Show ‘n Shine award for their dragsters at Flagstone State Community College while Best and Fairest was presented to Will Scanlan and Christopher Sampson
The purpose of the carbon dioxide dragster competition is to enable students to hone their skills to design, draw and build dragsters within a set of specifications.
