TRANSURBAN Queensland and Logan Enhancement Project contractors CPB counsel patience and warn commuters to plan ahead as work continues on a $512 million suit of projects designed to ease congestion and improve safety.
A TQ spokesman said temporary traffic changes have been implemented on the Beaudesert Road’s Mt Lindesay Highway bridge over the Logan Motorway.
These will put the finishing touches on works that realign the existing Logan Motorway eastbound off-ramp to Mt Lindesay Highway southbound to tie in to a new southbound bridge.
They culminate on Saturday night, August 4, with the switch southbound traffic onto the new bridge, weather permitting. Stage three works to follow will move northbound traffic onto the new bridge.
The spokesperson said when complete, the existing bridge would be demolished and work would begin on a new northbound bridge.
Other August projects include the opening of the newly constructed Logan Motorway westbound off-ramp to Anderson Street and the closure of the off-ramp to Wembley Road. The work and traffic switch will unfold from Friday, August 3 from 8pm to Monday, August 6 from 5am, with detours in place during the closure. There will be weekend closures of the existing Logan Motorway westbound off-ramp from 7pm to 5pm with a detour.
The spokesman thanked motorists for their patience during the works.
Logan Enhancement Project upgrades parts of the Logan and Gateway motorways, improving key congestion hot spots on the Logan Motorway, Mt Lindesay Highway, Beaudesert Road interchange and the Wembley Road and Logan Motorway interchanges.
A spokesman said scheduled works would be posted to the Logan Enhancement Project road users page and on the Queensland Traffic website or provided via a 131940 call centre.
