Suspended Logan mayor Luke Smith will return to court next month in Queensland after being released on bail over accusations he obstructed police.
The 48-year-old was arrested on Friday after an incident at a Logan property.
Mr Smith appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
Magistrate Athol Kennedy granted bail on the condition he report twice a week to Logan Central police station, starting Friday, and live at his father's home at Meadowbrook.
After his appearance, Mr Smith was reportedly taken to hospital on the advice of the watch house nurse.
It was unclear if Mr Smith was receiving treatment for a cut on his forehead, which he covered with a large band-aid during Monday's appearance, or something else.
Mr Smith is also banned from consuming drugs or alcohol and will be subject to random testing ahead of his next court appearance on August 21.
Mr Smith is already fighting unrelated perjury and corruption allegations after being charged in May by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
