A PROFESSIONAL Brazilian Futsul coach is teaching Jimboomba kids basic skills to set them up for the future.
Coach Raphael Ramasotti has started a weekly Fast Feet Futsul program at Jimboomba State School on Tuesday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Futsul is an indoor version of football played on a smaller field with fewer players.
Mr Ramassotti said kids felt more confident on the soccer field after picking up basic futsul skills at a young age.
“I introduce the sport to the kids and tell them the difference between futsul and football,” he said.
“We introduce simple skills like running, stopping and kicking the ball.
“In the next sessions we can introduce more complex skills.”
Coach Ramassotti has more than 10 years experience as a Futsul coach in Brazil.
The program will run for 10 weeks during term three.
There will be a competitive team element added to the program in term four.
The first session on July 17 attracted about 20 kids aged five to nine.
Sessions cost $10 each week. For inquiries call 0449 292 975.
