LOGAN City Council’s 2016-17 annual report has won gold for the third year running.
Staffers were presented with the Australasian Reporting Awards gold gong at a gala dinner in Sydney on Wednesday.
Logan edged out other councils from around Australia to win the prize.
City treasurer councillor Trevina Schwarz said the ARAs are hotly contested by some of Australia’s top private companies and government agencies.
“The gold award for performance reporting is assessed against world’s best practice criteria so it is indeed a great honour for those who crafted the report,” Cr Schwarz said.
“To win three years running shows LCC is living up to its corporate goal of providing next generation governance.
“The annual report fulfils the council’s statutory obligation to disclose its activities and financial performance to ratepayers and a wider audience so it is important that information be presented in a professional way.
“I’d like to congratulate everyone involved in the 2016/2017 annual report on another job well done.”
The ARAs were established in 1950 to recognise excellence in the preparation of annual reports in order to improve financial reporting and communication with stakeholders.
