RISING Jimboomba tennis star Chloe Liese will represent the south-east Queensland region in a tennis championship later this year.
The 11-year-old junior tennis player will join four other female tennis juniors for the Queensland Tennis Championships in September at Rockhampton.
This will come after Liese competes at the Rod Laver Tennis Centre for a national championship in July with 140 competitors in her division.
Liese trains nine hours a week at the FuturePros Tennis Academy and has been involved with coaches Kiel Linder and AJ Thompson for seven years.
She usually takes to the tennis court three days a week from 6am despite chilly winter conditions starting to bite.
Liese said she was thrilled to see her dedication lead to positive opportunities.
"I am so so excited about my selection as it ticks a box in my goals for my journey, not many kids get this chance," she said.
FuturePros tennis coach AJ Thompson said Liese’s passion for tennis was obvious.
“You don’t see many kids like Chloe, her expectations for herself and others is very high,” she said.
“She is one of a kind, a beautiful and caring member of her family after being with us for so long.”
Former number one Swiss tennis star Roger Federer is Liese’s inspiration to improve her game everyday.
"His sportsmanship is outstanding and so inspiring to me as a young player, I hope one day I can carry myself on court the way he does,” she said.
