AN aspiring country singer from Jimboomba is one of dozens of musicians who appear in pop-up performances across the city today to launch Logan Live.
Tahlia Stevenson, 18, of Jimboomba Woods, will perform a free one-hour show at Jimboomba Library from 3pm.
Tahlia is best known for her performances alongside dad Ray Stevenson in country band Lost Highway.
“This will be my first first real show completely on my own where I do everything from set up to pack down, so I’m a little nervous,” she said.
As a solo performer, Tahlia takes her inspiration from Johnny Cash, Keith Urban and Kelsea Ballerini to name a few of her personal favourites.
She was still tweaking the songlist when she phoned for a chat yesterday, but without giving too much away, it features covers by old-school favourites Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn and contemporary hitmaker Reba McIntyre.
Today’s program of free live shows coincides with Make Music Day, celebrated in 120 nations, and the launch of Logan Live, which develops local musicians by matching talent with eateries to perform in through the month of July.
Eleven acts, ranging from rock bands to school choirs and classical harpist to DJ, take music to public spaces for free one-hour gigs in libraries, museums and art galleries.
