THE Jimboomba Redback seniors have continued their winning momentum in a tight encounter against Morningside on Friday.
Jimboomba secured victory with an 18 point margin and a final score of 63-45.
The Redbacks (24 points) are placed fourth on the ladder for round ten of the season with six wins and three losses, equal to third placed Zillmere (24 points).
Maroochydore (28 points) leads the ladder with seven wins and two losses followed by the Western Magpies (28 points) also with seven wins and two losses.
The Jimboomba Redbacks are also being chased by tough competitors in the top eight of the ladder.
Mayne (20 points) is in fifth place with five wins and four losses, Morningside (16 points) sixth with four wins and five losses, Collingwood Park (12 points) in seventh with three wins and five losses and University of Queensland (8 points) with two wins and seven losses.
Junior Redback teams struggled against strong opposition on Sunday.
The under 14 Jimboomba/Greater Springfield side copped a 63-point disappointing loss against Mount Gravatt White.
The final score was 67-4 in favour of Mount Gravatt with the Redbacks scoring no direct goals despite a strong effort from all players and some improvement on the field. Fletcher, Connor and Hayden were the players of the match.
The under 13 Jimboomba girls fared better against the Calamvale Leopards at Henderson park on Sunday.
Unfortunately, the girls still fell short of winning with a final score 24-69 in favour of the opposition.
All of the girls fought hard against bigger and stronger opponents.
Teagan Dare, Annabel Anderson and Tej Sandhu kept the Redbacks in the game with goals in the second and third quarters.
Karen Knight and Chloe Levey were named players of the match.
The under 12 Redbacks played an incredibly tight match against Narangba falling just three points short 36-39.
The Jimboomba/Beenleigh under 17 girls were the only victorious side on Sunday.
They defeated Coorparoo with an 18 point margin and a final score 40-22.
On Saturday, the under 10 Jimboomba Redbacks took on Calamvale White and the under 9s faced Calamvale.
The under eight Jimboomba Black team clashed with Springwood Navy and Jimboomba Red faced Springwood White.
The under six Jimboomba juniors also challenged Springwood White.
The Jimboomba Masters did not play this week, but celebrated six victories in a row iwith a win against Glass house Bribie Island the week earlier.
