A CAR explosion near Mundoolun Road is understood to have blasted a male across the road on June 3.
Jimboomba Police Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said police were searching for the man and two others who fled from the Collins Creek Road and Mundoolun Road intersection in a gold Honda at about 8.30am.
“Accelerant was applied to a white Misubishi ASX causing it to explode and one (male) standing next to the vehicle was knocked backwards across the roadway,” he said.
“We suspect he would have suffered burns and requires medical treatment to his face and body.”
Senior Sergeant Waugh said police were met with hostility after locating three people inside the gold Honda at a Birnam driveway on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road shortly after 9am.
“Police attempted to intercept the vehicle and it reversed into the bonnet of the police vehicle, ramming it, and then they left,” he said.
Police located the same gold Honda near a Shell service station at Tamborine later that morning at 11.26am, but it escaped police again.
Senior Sergeant Waugh said two of the people in the car were male and one was female.
