TWO new senior police constables have joined the beat at the Jimboomba Police Station.
Jimboomba police Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said the new female officers would be a welcome addition to the team.
“They are trained drug testers and will be utilised in the traffic branch,” he said.
“They will boost our investigative abilities. The skills they bring with them will be a welcome compliment to us.”
One of the new officers has a background in plain clothes policing and child investigations and the second officer moved from Townsville and brings experience to the job.
This follows the recruitment of 70 new officers to the Queensland police on May 10, with seven new recruits allocated to Logan district.
Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said the new constables would be spread across the state.
“These allocations are based on the resources, needs and requirements of the service,” he said.
“We have allocated 27 first year constables to the Brisbane region, 14 to the central region, seven to northern region, 17 to the south eastern region and five to the southern region.”
