THE Regents Park Upper Room Ministries Crisis Centre is searching for a new home.
Volunteer coordinator Cathy Bunn said the organisation had three months to find a suitable new venue close to the Regents Park and Browns Plains community.
“I need this to stay in the local area because for people who don’t have a car this is far enough to walk,” she said.
“This is a very convenient spot because if people come from Centrelink they can walk through the library to get here.”
Upper Room Ministries regularly holds cent sale auctions to support disadvantaged people with food parcels and basic necessities.
Ms Bunn said an important garage sale was being held on-site at 12 Estramina Road from 7.30am to 1pm to help clear out the building.
“If you want to volunteer you are more than welcome,” she said.
She said it was rewarding to help financially stressed people get back on their feet.
“Quite a few people have told me we have done good,” she said.
“For the needy we don’t charge.”
