THE Jimboomba AFL Redbacks under 12 side traveled to Narangba on Sunday morning to claim their first victory of the season.
Following a tight first quarter with neither side claiming an early advantage, the 15-strong Redbacks opened up a lead with a dominating forward line approach resulting in consecutive goals.
The Redbacks easily defended their lead during the third quarter with a formidable defensive game with relentless tackling and shepherding.
Victory was sealed in the final quarter with the Redbacks kicking the first three goals, leaving the Narangba side without any prospect of winning.
The Redbacks won 10-9-69 against Narangba 5-0-30 with a clear 39 point margin.
Player of the match honours went to Tate Farrow for strong first and second quarter performances along with his ability to build pressure on the Narangba opposition.
Jordy Porter shared the player of the match title due to a “never give up attitude” on the field.
