EYE-catching images from New Guinea are on display at the Logan Art Gallery.
The Piksa Niugini exhibition features the work of Australian photographer Stephen Dupont, who has spent more than a decade visiting and documenting the changing face of Australia’s nearest neighbour.
It is one of three new exhibitions which open free of charge until June 9.
Small wonders and quirky connections by Bethania artist Kris Estereich. Ms Estrereich uses uses assemblage and collage to fuse political and environmental commentary with humour and playfulness. Her works also draw attention to the threatened habitat of koalas in Logan.
A third features World Environment Day posters by local students.
“This exhibition brings together a collection of vibrant artworks designed by young Logan artists on the theme Rethink the future,” said City Lifestyle and Community Committee Chairperson Councillor Steve Swenson
“Each year the posters produced are turned into a calendar for the following year.”
Logan Art Gallery, located on the corner of Wembley Road and Jacaranda Avenue, Logan Central, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
