COMMUNITY organisations can apply for grants of up to $35,000 from the Queensland government’s Gambling Community Fund.
Applications for one off grants valued from $500 and $35,000 close on May 31.
The fund distributes about $54 million in gaming revenue to groups to buy equipment or upgrade facilties.
The government approved $13.69 million to 659 groups in the last round of funding.
Past recipients included specialist care providers, wildlife hospitals, sporting clubs and men’s sheds for projects that included facility upgrades, shade materials, air conditions or kitchen equipment.
“These not-for-profit groups are the lifeblood of our communities and it’s vital we support them as much as possible,” said Attorney general and justice minister Yvonne D’Ath.
