UPDATE: THE man trapped inside the red hatchback car which collided with a brick pillar at Lyon Road has been freed.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the man was sent to hospital after he was cut from the vehicle at about 11.30am.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said he was assessed for back and spine injuries before being transported.
Lyon Road has been re-opened for traffic.
EARLIER: POLICE, ambulance and fire crews are on the scene after an accident at Lyon Road, New Beith.
Fire crews were using cutting tools to cut a person from the vehicle after it collided with a brick pillar at about 11am.
Ambulance officers will treat the person for suspected neck and spinal injuries.
