DAILY training sessions over three months has seen two Jimboomba tennis stars blitz the Gold Coast Pennant competition in their first season.
Phoenix Cairns, 17 and Josh Jack, 18, remain undefeated after winning the contest and are set for promotion to a higher pennant next season.
The two boys started played tennis in the Logan City area before making the switch to the Jimboomba Tennis Club this year.
Coach Brett Day said he was blown away by how quickly the duo rose through the ranks.
“They are both big hitters and have big games,” he said.
“For them winning was a matter of being more consistent and smarter.
“You couldn’t come across two better kids on the court when it comes to attitude. There is no dummy spitting, cheating or racquet throwing.
“Both boys are great role models for the sport.”
Cairns and Jack will compete in upcoming tournaments across Queensland in addition to away games every second week of their Pennant competition.
