THE REMARKABLE achievements of women across Queensland were celebrated at the sold out International Women’s Day Lunch on March 8.
Access hosted the event at the Logan West Community Centre, which saw 300 people unite to celebrate the resilience, determination and passion of women across various communities.
Telstra Women in Business Award winner and Access CEO Gail Ker spoke passionately at the event while inspiring stories of women overcoming barriers were shared.
The free lunch also hosted the first Queensland Women in Leadership Awards.
Ms Ker said this had been organised to acknowledge the outstanding work of established and emerging women leaders.
Kathryn Lyons won the Emerging Leader award for her charity work at Accessibili-t and award winning innovation skills, Emily de la Pena claimed the Entrepreneurial and Innovation award and Colleen Benson won the Rachel Whitford award for Women in Leadership.
