Division two juniors finished the home and away Season with a win at home on Saturday against the Beenleigh Pirates.
Jimboomba won the toss and sent Beenleigh into bat. Openers Hannah and Clodagh kept Jimboomba without a break through until the 17th over.
At 1st drinks Beenleigh were 1 for 32. Jimboomba brought Connor Mills into the attack and he chipped away at the top order and ended up with 3 for 4 off 4 overs.
Jimboomba pressed on and would eventually dismiss Beenleigh in the 31st over for 63. Other wicket takers were Brayden Hayes 3 for 9, Ethan Hayes 1 for 1, Cameron Steinhardt 1 for 4, and Joel Mitchell 1 for 12. Jimboomba in reply chased down the runs in the 21st over losing four wickets in the process.
Ben Thurlow 29 top scored, Haydn Teese 9 and Liam 6 not out were the top scorers. Jimboomba will host the division two grand final in two weeks.
Jimboomba Seniors also finished the home and away season with a hard fought win vs Logan Village Gold. Jimboomba batted first and achieved 8 for 208 after a rain interrupted 39 overs.
Top Scorers for Jimboomba were Rodney Teese 25, David Parry 22, Reid Breeze 38 and Phil Hayes 49. Logan Village had a great start to the chase and kept Jimboomba wicketless until the two openers had put on a 117 for the 1st wicket.
Jimboomba fought through the bowling of Rodney Teese 3 for 29, Heath Mutch 2 for 25 and Reid Breeze 3 for 5. Logan Village were dismissed for 169. Seniors will host semi finals at Glen Logan Park, Saturday at 12:30pm.
Jimboomba Green Division four versed Greenbank Division four on Saturday. The boys were fired up with some friendly rivalry on show in the field.
Greenbank batted first with a great opening partnership from Brock and Harry forcing a few mistakes from the Team.
After a quick drinks break and a word from coach the boys tightened up the field and slowed the run rate with Greenbank finishing on 11/76.
Best bowlers from Jimboomba were Aston 3/8 off 3 overs, Rowan 3/9 off 2 overs and Jett with 1/5 off 3 overs. Maiden overs went to Jett and Riley.
Jimboomba came to the crease with Riley and Rowan setting the pace for the game. Greenbank bowlers showed some great line and length to have Jimboomba 6/47 at the 10th over.
With runs hard to come by with Greenbank's skill in the field, it was up to Aston 24 runs and James 7 runs to finish the game on a high. Jimboomba's total score was 8/93. Special mention to Cruz who received ‘Player of The Match’ for his improved bowling and batting during the game and to Tristan who made his top score of the season with 11 runs.
