A 16-year-old Murarrie boy died on Sunday after a crash at Buccan the previous day.
The teenager was a passenger in a Hyundai sedan that crashed into a tree.
The Jimboomba Times reported that the boy was taken to Princess Alexandria Hospital in critical condition just after midnight on Saturday while the 17-year-old Greenslopes male driver suffered minor injuries.
The crash occurred on Waterford-Tamborine Road.
Jimboomba police station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said this was the second road fatality within the Jimboomba policing area this year.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit.
