ORGANISATIONS and community groups will benefit from a multipurpose area that has been opened at Grand Plaza Shopping Centre.
The 100 square metre space is available for not-for-profit groups to hold workshops, seminars, classes, displays and information sessions without incurring onerous costs.
It was officially opened recently by deputy mayor Cherie Dalley.
Grand Plaza centre manager Martine Coorey said they were excited to open the doors to the community venue at the centre.
“Our vision is that this space will host everything from workshops on how to prepare for a job interview through to multi-language sessions on getting your children ready to start school and art displays that highlight the incredible talents of many of those living within our region,” she said.
“There isn’t a template or formula for how this space will operate, and so we’d like to take this opportunity to invite community groups to send in their expressions of interest if they feel they can use this space to support the great work they do and the people they help on a daily basis.”
The centre has asked for the community to suggest a name for the space.
The centre is also involved in other community partnerships including with the Blue Light Association, Marsden State High School, the Logan Children’s Hospital and a bi-monthly community committee.
Expressions of interest to use the space, located near Coles, can be sent to grand.plaza@vicinity.com.au.
