JIMBOOMBA State School is set to host its first bush fete in twenty years in two months this April.
Bush fete co-ordinator Janet Smith said the initiative was something the community was screaming out for.
“We have had some interest for a few years, but we have either not had the ability to get it organised or not had the helpers,” she said.
“We have been able to have a lot of that come into place this year and the new principal has come on board and gave us the thumbs up so we are setting to work straight away.
“It is amazing how much support we have been given since we announced this with parents teachers and students amazing.”
Ms Smith said a range of community groups, businesses and individuals have already begun sponsoring the event.
The fete will be held on the school oval on April 28 from 3pm to 8pm.
The event will feature a stunning range of attraction rides, sideshow alley, helicopter joy slights, community group involvement, live entertainment and fireworks display.
Students across all year levels will leave their mark on the fete and will run some sideshow alley stalls selling cakes, show bags, face painting and more.
Proceeds from the event will go towards completing air conditioning each classroom in the school.
