RESIDENTS who experienced power outages after the severe storm on Sunday may be eligible for a $114 payment from Energex.
The payment is linked to Energex’s guaranteed service levels.
An Energex spokesman said they aimed to restore power after an interruption to supply within eight hours in an urban feeder area, and within 18 hours in other areas.
“If we are unable to do so, you will receive a $114 payment for each eligible outage,” the spokesman said.
With power outages affecting 135,000 customers after Sunday night’s storms, the spokesman said each case would be assessed and those who were eligible would automatically receive the payment.
Energex has a one-month time limit to process the payments.
Anyone who does not receive a payment, they believe they are eligible for, can lodge a manual claim within three months of the event.
The spokesman said customers had not received the Energex GSL payment during last year’s floods caused by ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie because relief was available through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
