JOURNALIST Kay McGrath will speak at an International Women’s Day breakfast organised by Quota International of Jimboomba.
Hand in hand world service chair Alison Lingard said men and women were invited to attend the breakfast on Thursday, March 8 from 7am to 9.30am.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is Press for Progress in support of a call for friends, colleagues and communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.
“We are very excited to have Kay McGrath to join us,” Ms Lingard said.
“She is very well known in the media world and for her work with community organisations.”
Quota is a worldwide service organisation, predominantly for women.
Money raised by the Jimboomba group helps people who have hearing and speech impairments and women who are disadvantaged.
Last year the club supported a project, together with other Quota clubs, in Fiji.
“Each time we can send something to help with those project, we realise how we can help to change people’s lives,” Ms Lingard said.
The cost is $25 per person, which includes a buffet breakfast.
The event will be at Jimboomba Country Tavern.
Bookings and payment are required by March 1.
