Putting the love back into veterinary services is one of the main focuses of the VetLove clinic at Jimboomba.
Part owner and practice manager, Lynette Hollis, said the clinic now offered an extensive range of veterinary services - including surgical suites, diagnostic services, an in-house laboratory and full imaging.
But what Ms Hollis loved most about running the practice, with vet Dr Yuki Mak, was giving back to the community and helping educate people about pet care.
“I have lived in Jimboomba for 18 years and it has always been a dream of mine to own a vet practice,” said Ms Hollis. “I have been a vet nurse for 22 years and both myself and Dr Mak take great pride in offering quality pet care services to our local community.”
VetLove is a family-owned and operated business and there are five clinics in Queensland. VetLove Jimboomba has been open 10 months and during that time owners Ms Hollis and Dr Mak have extended the services offered extensively.
“We are a small animal clinic,” said Ms Hollis. “There was no surgery here previously and we have put in a surgical suite, dental facilities, full imaging and a laboratory is also available.
“We have totally renovated the premises and put a lot of hours and energy into extending the practice. We are now very much a one-stop vet practice where we can offer a vast range of services under one roof.”
Ms Hollis said buying into the VetLove business as a part owner was a “dream come true. “This really is my way of contributing and giving back to the local community,” Ms Hollis said.
“I am very passionate about pets in my local community and locals know how invested we are in this business.”
VetLove Jimboomba has four vet nurses and two vets currently working at the practice. As well as offering an extensive range of veterinary services, the business also has a growing number of clientele using their full pet grooming service.
“Our focus is about putting the love back into what we do,” said Ms Hollis. “We offer a very high standard of care to our community and their animals. We love helping locals and their pets.”
