SPRINGWOOD MP Mick de Brenni says he will take up concerns about Logan City Council with Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe.
Mr de Brenni said as a Logan ratepayer he expected councillors to focus on delivering for the community, not talk about themselves.
“I urge everyone at Logan City Council to focus on building the Logan community as a great place to live, work and play,” he said.
Mr de Brenni said the current situation was “a real distraction from the important task of governing for the benefit of people in Logan”.
He said that as the state member for Springwood he would be passing on the concerns of ratepayers to Mr Hinchliffe.
Residents have formed the Logan Ratepayers Association which will hold its first public meeting on Sunday.
President Rod Shaw said a committee attended council’s special meeting last week.
Mr Shaw said the association had asked Mr Hinchliffe to address “deep-seated problems” in the council.
The association will meet at 1pm on Sunday at Brigalow Community Club at Oliver Park, Logan Road, Eagleby.
