Australian Turf Club officials were quick to clear up an issue around a missing Golden Slipper nomination for impressive debut winner Estijaab after she demolished rivals at Randwick on Saturday.
The $1.7 million Easter purchase by Emirates Park was not in early betting markets for the world's richest two-year-old race after being nominated without a name by Hawkes Racing.
"She has definitely been paid up all the way under her breeding of Snitzel-Response, so you would expect her to be there in the second acceptances when they take this week," ATC racing and wagering manager James Ross said.
"She doesn't have a name in the nominations, like a lot of horses, but that will change."
Betting agencies weren't offering a price for Estijaab before Saturday and many had her in the Golden Slipper market as not nominated after she stormed to a four-length victory.
Punters were able to get $15 at the TAB about her chances in the Golden Slipper, with a rider that she was not nominated and made her the $11 equal favourite for the Blue Diamond.
"We were sure she was paid up, when you have an expensive filly like her, they are paid up straight away," co-trainer Michael Hawkes said. "It is reassuring to have it cleared up.
"It was just good to see her do that considering her price tag and we just have to work out where she will head next now.
"She has shown us something from the time she came into work but you need to see it raceday like that.
"We're just happy we have the score on the board right away. She's a really nice filly. Since she's stepped into our stable she's very relaxed and had a good attitude and it really shone."
The Hawkes team chose Estijaab as the best filly at the Easter sale and left her purchase in the hands of Nasser Lootah's Emirates Park. They have already won a Golden Slipper with a filly in Mossfun
"They have a long standing relationship with us and they asked what was the best filly in the sale and we told them she was and left it in their hands," Hawkes said.
"It was a nice phone to get a couple of weeks after the sale that she was coming to us."
Estijaab lived up to her price tag by jumping to the front from an outside gate on Saturday and using her high cruising speed to lead and then had a strong kick topping the rise.
"She'd be the best filly I've ridden and she'd be right up there with the leading contenders for sure," jockey Brenton Avdulla said.
"I've been waiting for her for a while to be honest. She is a speed filly so from the outside gate she jumped quickly and I rode her for speed.
"I was always pretty confident throughout and when I asked her just to finish off a little bit she did and still had more in store.
"She's been very well educated and turned up today and did everything right."
Estijaab was in a class of her own and won by four lengths from Dio D'Oro with Tell No Tell another 2-1/4 lengths in third.
The big spaces were a tell tale sign of the quality of the winner.
The disappointment of the race was Ruling Symbol, which sat outside the lead and raced greenly and dropped out.
"He was just a really green racehorse," jockey Tye Angland said. "The blinkers helped him in the trial but not on raceday.
"He has very hard to pulled up, which shows he was running a little on fear."
