It was the win Soho Tribeca deserved and it was done in dominant and commanding fashion in the WA Pacing Cup at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
Soho Tribeca took the his first Grand Circuit crown, beating Chicago Bull in the showdown of West Australia's two best pacers.
The winner of two Interdominion heats pushed forward from a wide draw and once Chicago Bull come around to join him, the pair took the front, but Soho Tribeca produced a 55.4-second, final half-mile to ease away for an 8.25-metre win.
The victory drew a line under the drama of a stable change after the Interdominion and the disappointment of the Interdominion final and Fremantle Cup, where Soho Tribeca never really got into the races.
"It is to this horse's credit - he has had a hell of a campaign," driver Kim Prentice said. "It has all to do with the horse. I have nothing to do it."
There was no Lazarus at Gloucester Park on Friday but the reports out of the All Stars team are that he will be seen in the Miracle Mile at Menangle next month.
He pulled up with a sore hoof after his heroic second in the Fremantle Cup but jogged on Friday in Perth.
"I was never going to be sure how long it would take until I had a few days with him, but he has improved a lot," trainer Mark Purdon said.
"I was able to get him back jogging today and I am now far more confident he will get to the Hunter Cup and then Menangle for the prelude and hopefully the Miracle Mile. So I'd expect to be in both of those."
