Keith Dryden has ruled out Eve's Miss appearing at the Canberra Guineas, despite the promising filly winning first up at Thoroughbred Park on Friday.
Eve's Miss led from start to finish in the 1000m three-year-old maiden to finish three quarters of a length ahead of favourite Quantum Time.
It was the first of three wins for Dryden, who also finished second in the $40,000 Federal, but the Canberra trainer said Eve's Miss won't be running on Black Opal Stakes day.
"She won nicely, I thought she controlled the race well with Matthew [Cahill] up front, he never really shook her up and he never pulled the whip," Dryden said.
"They've gone 57.36 so she probably had a little bit left and being her first run there'd be a bit of natural improvement in her, first runner for me for new owners so it was a good way to get started.
"Natural ability and speed makes it a bit easier but I wouldn't put a champion tag on her, placed properly she could probably win a couple more this prep, but she's no chance for the Guineas.
"She's not ready for that sort of thing, it would have to improve a fair bit to be going there, I did say to Matty what about 1200m and he said a bit early, so just not yet."
Dryden and Cahill combined for a back to back wins in race four with Stitched Up and the duo completed a trifecta with Bid of Faith in race 6.
Joseph Ible won the Federal with Brodie Loy aboard Manzana as the five-year-old gelding led all the way to finish ahead of Dryden's Tougherthantherest and Matt Dale's Fun Tickets.
Dale made it a double in the final race of the day when Dream Builder edged out Joe Cleary's Not Bossy and John Sargent's The Big Boss.
