THE small gesture of donating unwanted toys could be the difference which brightens the lives of children across Queensland.
St Vinnies Queensland is calling on anyone in the Logan area with undamaged toys in good condition going to waste to donate them to any local store.
“The best way to donate is in person in a shop, because if they are left outside they can get damaged by rain or taken before we can collect them,” Vinnies Queensland state centre support manager Andrew Claridge said.
“As long as they are not broken or damaged we are happy to accept them.”
Vinnies has shops in Jimboomba, Browns Plains, Beenleigh, Logan, Loganlea, Marsden and Mt Tamborine.
Mr Claridge said quality donations made a real difference toward helping vulnerable Queenslanders.
“We really are able to give toys a second life,” he said.
“All proceeds from sales at our retail shops go back into programs that support people in need in the community in which the shop is located.
“You would be surprised by the quality of the toys and board games we receive from generous Queenslanders, items that not only raise funds but put a smile on the faces of more children.”
Vinnies provided $191 million in services and support to people in need last year.
