DRAMATIC scenes unfolded in Browns Plains after a group of three people driving a stolen car crashed and tried to steal a second car yesterday afternoon.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said two males and a female were travelling in the stolen red 2016 Volkswagen Golf eastbound on Johnson Road at 2.30pm before veering on to the westbound lane and smashing into a second vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
The trio, armed with an iron bar, then fled from the Golf and approached a fuel station where they tried to steal a customer’s car.
They left the garage on foot after the customer sought refuge inside the service station to contact police.
The police spokesperson said they were seen heading south into an adjacent acreage.
Police investigations are continuing.
Anyone with information that can help police is asked to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
