LOGAN community groups can now apply for grants worth between $500 and $35000 under the next round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The funds have flowed through to the Jimboomba Cricket Association, the Logan Village Lion’s Club, Greenbank Scout Group and the Flagstone State School P&C to upgrade facilities in prior rounds.
And now Labor Logan MP Linus Power is calling on more local organisations to reap the benefits of greater funding.
“Groups like these are the backbone of our communities and I encourage all eligible clubs to apply for this funding,” he said.
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said the extra support gave community groups the flexibility to achieve otherwise unattainable goals.
“Every year the Gambling Community Benefit Fund distributes around $53 million of gaming revenue to Queensland communities,” Ms Mullen said.
“This fund is Queensland’s largest once-off grants program and allows community groups to fund projects that might have otherwise been out of reach.
“This can include allowing groups to purchase equipment and upgrade their facilities so they can improve the services they provide to the community.”
Organisations have until February 28 to apply for grants.
