LOGAN City Council will help landholders better manage their rural property during a course at Logan Village on January 13.
Council has helped landholders adopt best practice land management practices by running courses and workshops as part of its Rural Essentials program for a number of years.
The free workshop will teach participants about soil, pasture, fencing, off-stream watering and weed management.
The workshop will be held on January 13 from 9am to 1pm will be held at the Lions Community hall, Logan Village.
Health, Environment and Water committee chairwoman councillor Cherie Dalley said with 70 per cent of the land in Logan classed as rural or semi-rural, good land management practices were essential.
“A good property management plan is one of the most effective ways to help you achieve your desired outcomes for your property,” she said.
“That’s what these workshops are about – giving landholders the knowledge they need to make good choices.”
The Rural Essentials workshop is part of Logan City Council’s Healthy Land, Healthy Rivers workshop series which is aimed at rural landholders and how they can balance best practice use of land with environmental outcomes.
