For Tracey and Mark Drury of North Maclean Christmas is a time of year they look forward to every 12 months.
This December they have gone the extra mile with their Christmas light display, with more than 30 sets of lights spread around their residence and property lighting up the night.
The Drury’s of 24 Phillippa Road, have been putting up Christmas lights for years but Tracey said this festive season’s display has been made extra special thanks to a Christmas light tree that would not have been a reality without the help of friends.
“One of our good friends Gary O’Neil, he and one of his friends made the frame for the Christmas tree and we did all the lights,,” she said.
“He did an awesome job, it really sets if off this year.
“We’ve been doing it for years and it just kept growing each year.”
Mrs Drury said her husband Mark starts planning for the Christmas light display well before the festive season arrives.
“He always makes sure they are all ready to go by December 1 and he usually starts putting them up around about early November to late October,” she said.
Mrs Drury said the lights do attract some keen Christmas display viewers.
“We get a few come by, just from word of mouth really,,” she said.
“We get a few cars, not a hell of a lot but we get a few because our street is a dead end street both ends so it’s only accessed down Phillippa Road.
“We love Christmas, I do the inside and he does most of the outside.”
