The Jimboomba Division 2 under 14 side started its pre-Christmas grand final against John Paul College on Saturday.
Jimboomba won the toss and decided to bowl its first 25 overs first. The Bushrangers restricted JPC to 6/52.
Wickets were shared with Ethan Hayes 1/4, Cameron Steinhardt 1/13, Arden Coy 2/6 and Lewis Hinds 1/ 2. The other wicket came from a sharp run out assisted by Haydn Teese.
Jimboomba in reply put on 2/90 after 25 overs. Ben Thurlow was looking good on 26 and Luke Bayliss played well for 25. Haydn Teese and Arden Coy remain 16 not out each. The match will be completed next Saturday.
Division 3 Green
Jimboomba Bushrangers took on John Paul College on home turf at Greenbank. The captains Josh Feeney and Cameron Thurlow lost the toss and went out to bowl first.
The Bushrangers bowling and fielding were on fire! Luke Ward and Will Whatmore both took a screaming catch each and the team had two run outs by Cameron Thurlow and Noah Plater.
The best bowlers for the day were Jet Scutt 1/11, Noah Plater 1/8 and Benny Tattersall 1/17.
After the eventful first half, it was time to bat. Noah Plater got an astonishing 52 runs, Will Whatmore with 25 runs and Luke Ward 16 runs showing that they were the best batters for the day.
The Jimboomba boys went out with a great win of 2/148 and JPC 5/145. Great game played by all, however man of the match was Noah Plater for his stellar runs and mateship throughout the game.
Division 4 Gold
Jimboomba travelled to Everdell Park to play Beaudesert Gold. It was a tight match with both teams bowling and fielding exceptionally well.
Jimboomba sent Beaudesert out to bat and they put on 5/76. Top bowlers were Lachlan with a wicket maiden, Troy and Hayden both with a caught and bowled.
Bushrangers went in with a solid stand of 23 between Corey and Slater who hit his first four. Great support from Zac achieving his first six. An awesome closing partnership of 93 from Lachlan (45) achieving his first six and nine fours and Hayden (48) including four sixes. Great team effort all round.
Division 4 Green
Jimboomba played at home against John Paul College White. Captain Mateo won the toss and sent JPC in to bat .
JPC played well and came in with 12/67 with the best bowlers Rowan 2/0, Riley 2/10 and Aston 3/10 .
In reply, Jimboomba batted strongly, finishing their innings with 7/96. The best batters of the day were Jett with 16 runs, Rowan with 12 and Aston 14.
It was a great game by both teams with some good bowling and batting.
