Jimboomba Quota is seeking local knitters and sewers to support the endeavours of Mission Possible, based at Logan Central.
Vice President Wendy Fryer said Mission Possible donated sewn and knitted goods to various hospitals and nursing homes for residents. These include blankets and special aprons for dementia patients.
The need was recognised when Quota members presented a $500 cheque to Mission Possible at 51 Jacaranda Avenue, Logan Central on November 29. The money was raised by Jimboomba Quota through Bunnings barbecues, events, raffles and an art show and taken from its community account.
“We would like to coordinate the sewing and knitting efforts in the Jimboomba area as part of our care plan. We can then pass them on to Mission Possible. It is great if people have their own wool and materials but we are also happy to provide them,” Ms Fryer said.
Baskets have also been placed at the Bendigo bank at Jimboomba and Logan Village where people can donate wool and fabrics.
Anyone able to assist can phone Ms Fryer on 0414 415 300.
