Despite heavy rain across Saturday afternoon posing a threat to the JC Family Church Christmas carols, the skies delivered a Christmas promise by clearing in time for the popular event to go ahead.
A strong crowd turned out at Jimboomba State School oval and, across the evening, patrons were entertained by a range of talent and acts, including VIPA Dance Crew, Jimboomba State School students, Hills International College students, Yugambeh Youth Choir and others.
Santa was on hand, making a list, checking it twice, and assuring all that Jimboomba children were definitely nice.
As the sun set and twilight fell, a sea of glow sticks and wands washed waves of colour across the oval as the crowd joined in singing some popular Christmas songs, including Away in a Manger, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells and Do You Hear What I Hear?
The free event, sponsored by Jimboomba Times, also included face-painting, food trucks, give-away prizes, a sausage sizzle, prayer tent manned by members of Church on the Way, and a fireworks grand finale.
