Jimboomba, Beaudesert and Greenbank Division 2 cricket teams took time out at Glen Logan Park on Saturday at 11am to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Greenbank led the ceremony by reciting The Ode which then followed a minute’s silence which was respected by all three teams and attending parents.
Jimboomba Division 2 went on to defeat both Greenbank and Beaudesert during their tri-game T20 round of fixtures.
Jimboomba were able to dismiss Greenbank for 37. Best bowlers were Brayden Hayes 2/3, Ethan Hayes 1/4, Arden Coy 1/0, Connor Mills 1/1, Lachlan Macgregor 1/4 and Cameron Steinhardt 1/4.
Jimboomba then chased down the 47 required in the 16th over to defeat Beaudesert. Jimboomba did not have it all their own way losing five wickets along the way.
Best batsmen were Lewis Hinds 11 not out, Haydn Teese 9 and Thomas Sterle 7.
Division 3
Jimboomba Green played Kuraby Blue at Greenbank on Saturday.
Kuraby Blue won the toss and Jimboomba batted first with Luke Ward opening the match.
Best batsmen for the day who gave it their all in honour of Remembrance Day were Will Watmore 37, Luke Ward 34 and Noah Plater 34.
Best bowlers were Will Watmore 1/12, Eli Blake 1/13 and Callum Pearson 1/13.Noah Plater and Cameron Thurlow did a fantastic job defending the wickets as wicket keepers.
Jimboomba Green finished 0/158 after 20 overs due to rain delay, defeating Kuraby Blue 3/133.
Overall the Jimboomba boys played with a lot of team spirit and were happy with their win.
Division 4 Gold
Bushrangers’ Division 4 Gold hosted JPC Burgundy at Greenbank. With a rainy day forecast and two rain delays a good tight match was played.
JPC sent the Bushrangers into field and they held them to 5/91. In reply Jimboomba fought hard to put on 8/93.
Bowlers of the day were Hayden 2/14, Corey 2/15 and Troy 1/12. Hayden and Liam put in a solid partnership of 47 to bring us home. Corey made 13 and Slater 8. A big effort from Joseph with running this week. Another great team effort.
Division 4 Green
Jimboomba Division 4 Green travelled to Springwood Suns on Saturday to play Springwood Blue. Jimboomba batted first and achieved 10 for 85.
Aston Lyons 17, James Dinnar 11 and Jett Wright 9 top scored for the team. Springwood in reply achieved 11 for 71 after 20 overs. James and Aston claimed three wickets and Riley Benstead took two. Matteo and Jett also chipped in with one each
