A 22-year-old doing burnouts on Veresdale Scrub Road blew his rear tyres and drove off on his rims, damaging hundreds of metres of road surface, according to police.
The Beaudesert man was caught in a crackdown on speedsters and hoons on the road after he was seen doing fishtails and donuts, police will allege.
Beaudesert police say the 22-year-old performed a series of stunts before damaging his Toyota coupe.
They impounded the vehicle under anti-hooning legislation and the driver may yet face an expensive road repair bill.
Police said they attended a Worip Drive address on Sunday at 8am in relation to a dark blue coupe which was reportedly involved a hooning incident on on Saturday night.
The driver was found at the address, co-operated with police and allegedly admitted to committing the offence.
He was charged with wilfully make unnecessary noise and a Type 1 offence under anti-hooning legislation, which saw his number plates seized for 90 days and the vehicle grounded.
He will appear in relation to the matter on November 28.
Police will contact Scenic Rim Regional Council as to whether restitution will be sought for the damage caused to the road surface.
Beaudesert police have been targeting the stretch of road after numerous complaints from residents, regarding high speed and hoon drivers.
