A free fitness boot camp is headed for Greenbank.
Local trainer Darren Pennisi, of Dazza Fitness, will coach members of the public for an eight week period with his normal fees being paid to Bowel Cancer Australia.
These proceeds are enabled by the support of Enriching Communities and Mirvac.
Mr Pennisi said he created the charity boot camps in memory of his friend Jack, who lost his battle with bowel cancer just 10 weeks after being diagnosed.
“We really hope to get at least 20 to 30 people signed up on Sunday to make as many proceeds as we can for Bowel Cancer Australia,” he said.
“I just really want to pay it forward and get more awareness about bowel cancer out there.”
Mr Pennisi said everyone was welcome to sign up and even sign on their children.
“Our boot camps are really made for anyone,” he said.
“We just want to get Greenbank fit and healthy and get out and have some fun in the name of Bowel Cancer Australia.”
The free boot camps will be held every Saturday at the Greenbank Shopping Centre car park from 6.30am to 7.30am for eight weeks.
“Challengers will receive a starter pack filled with helpful information and goodies to help them on their way to becoming fitter and healthier,” Mr Pennisi said.
Sign up on Sunday, October 22, at Greenbank Shopping Centre from 10am to 1pm.
