A BABY animal farm was the centrepiece of a day of celebration after a recent award for the educator behind Mel’s Family Day Care at Greenbank on August 31.
According to Melanie Tinsley, who is registered with Stepping Stones Education, day care is of great benefit for local kids.
“The great advantage for children in a family day care service is that they can get out and connect with other children and have meaningful and engaging experiences that harness their develop and social skills,” she told the Times.
A 2017 regional award-winner for excellence in family day care, Ms Tinsley has been a family day care educator for six years.
She welcomes families into her home, working with them to create an environment for learning, laughter and love.
"My family day care environment ensures that not only the children's needs are met but those of the entire family,” she said.
“This morning’s experience with the baby animals gave the children the opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals.”
