THE Rotary Club of Jimboomba has collaborated with yourtown to complete renovations of the Jimboomba Community Hall over the next six months, and they’re having an open day this weekend to share the news.
Rotarian David Kenny contacted the Times this week since many readers may have seen the sign on the fence at the hall.
Mr Kenny said the hall would be kept open during the renovations for current and prospective users.
According to the president of Jimboomba Hall Community Jamie Banks, the renovation is a group effort.
“Jimboomba Rotary is supplying $24,000 from the recently successful south-sast Queensland Expo, and Jimboomba Quota is giving $2000 to purchase all materials for the renovation,” he said.
Yourtown would supply the labour, Mr Banks said, bringing the project’s value to more than $80,000.
“This will compliment the new toilets we put in 18 months ago at a cost of $78,000, and further extend the life of the community-owned hall well into this century,” he said.
Jimboomba Community Hall ‘open hall’ takes place on Sunday, August 20. For more information contact David Kenny on 0438 705 406.
