The under 17 Beaudesert Warriors team faced off against Souths Magpies on Sunday at a warm and balmy Surfers Paradise grounds.
The teams had meet on two previous occasions this year and it always ended in a tight tussle, with Sundays game being no different.
The Warriors started well with a try in the corner to Tyrone Lienart-Brown, which Caleb Callaghan then proceeded to slot from the sideline.
This lifted the Warriors when then charged up field to score again not long after, through a strong determined run from Jack Barnes.
Another conversion successful from Caleb and the Warriors had jumped out to a 14-nil lead with five minutes to the half-time break.
Souths never gave up though and proceeded to score a try of their own on the hooter to close the gap heading into the break.
With the breeze in the second half, Souths changed tactics and kicked for territory more and putting the Warriors on the back foot.
This tired the bigger Warriors forward pack out and it was not long after that Souths struck again to bring the scores level.
Ludwig Crotty helped himself to another try for the Warriors 10 minutes later which continued the seesawing game.
With five minutes left on the clock, it looked like the Warriors would take the win away but Souths had different ideas and stormed back to score two late tries and a last minute sideline conversion to even the scores.
The Warriors were left disappointed at having drawn the match when it was there for the taking, but have a chance to redeem themselves when they take on Wests at home this Sunday.
