THE Redlands community is being urged to support a benefit for the Pink family, who lost three children in a car crash in northern NSW in May.
Jack, Marina and Destiny Pink were travelling home from a show at Dubbo when two vehicles in which they were travelling were involved in a crash with a fuel tanker at Boggabilla.
The Pink family run an event catering company and have travelled the Queensland show circuit providing food services.
Friends of the family are holding a golf day, followed by an evening of music, at the Redland Bay Golf Club on Friday, August 11.
The event starts with a barbecue lunch at 1.30pm, followed by a nine-hole shotgun start golf competition at 2.30pm.
Cost for lunch and the golf game is $16, with bookings essential.
Five local bands and solo artists will provide entertainment from 5.30pm.
They include five-piece band Jack Rabbit and the Alley Cats, with special vocalist Jenny J and rock legend Michael Turner.
Guitar instrumentalist extraordinaire Tom Darcy and Daly Stephenson will also perform.
To finish off, attendees can dance the night away to Lex and Len, accompanied by rhythm guitarist Bennie, who will perform the classics of Roy Orbison, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash and Gene Pitney.
Raffles will be drawn throughout the evening and organisers would appreciate any donations of prizes.
Table bookings are essential for the evening and food is available from the bistro.
