The Park Ridge Pirates under 15 girls played a tough game on the weekend against Aspley, coming away winners by three points.
Aspley put up a fight until the final siren, making the Pirates dig deeper and work harder for the win.
Final score was Park Ridge 3.14.32 to Aspley 4.5.29.
Under 9s
The Pirate Under 9s hosted West Juniors on Saturday. The Pirates showed great effort throughout the match, making their parents and friends proud with their skills and ability on the field.
Their were times in the game when the under 9s were showing ball transitions, disposal accuracy and tackling pressure of older playing groups.
The under 9s continue to build as a team each week, and are exciting to watch.
Under 12s
The Park Ridge Pirate under 12s travelled to Springwood on Sunday in a must-win match to keep their finals hopes alive.
The pirates came out firing, dominating the centre and controlling forward entries.
Having the wind behind them in the second quarter, the pirates kicked away to a 4.3 to nil lead, again dominating the centre clearances, and being first to the ball showing their desire to win the contest.
The third quarter was even in scoring, with the game mostly being played between half-forward and half-back.
In the last quarter, the Pirates showed some great poise to run the game out.
With multiple goal scorers they kicked away to come home with the win.
The final score was Springwood 2.1.13 to Park Ridge 8.5.53
