Jimboomba Times readers have agreed with local neighbourhood watch member Terry Williams’ calls for lighting at the intersection of Round Ridge Road and the Mount Lindesay Highway at Jimboomba.
In a recent online poll the Times received 55 votes, with 45 votes agreeing with the call for safety lighting to be installed.
Only 10 people were against the idea of lighting at the intersection.
On Facebook, readers comments were heavily favoured toward a lighting solution to improve safety after several near misses and crashes at the intersection.
Mr Williams said he would like to see solar lighting installed to illuminate and make motorists aware of the intersection.
He believed that any lighting solution, even an interim solution, would allow residents who turn into the road on a regular basis feel safer.
“I cannot see why they can’t put in those portable type solar lights like they did down at Camp Cable Road during that upgrade,” he said.
