Tamborine Pony Club recently held their annual Jumping Equitation and Showjumping competitions.
Both days ran well and the competition was well organised and run by the Tamborine members.
Despite the hot conditions, the riders put on an excellent display of jumping over the two days.
Whilst many riders were from our Zone, there were riders who travelled quite a distance to compete: some were hoping to achieve qualifications for the PCQ State Championships at Easter.
Jumping Equitation is done over two courses and judges both the style of horse and rider over the showjumping fences.
For each round, the rider receives a score sheet and, ideally, take notice of where the judges are indicating the areas they need to improve in.
Theoretically, good results in this discipline, will enable the rider to showjump over higher fences better.
The winners in the age groups were as follows:
10 Yrs & under: Connor Lane, Waterford
11 – U13: Charlotte Adamson, Southport
13 – U15: Jazmine McMullan, Greenbank
15 – U17: Saskia Hind, Samford
17 – U21: Katelyn Burgess, Greenbank
