Division Three captain John Biddlecomb tees off on the par 3 16th hole at hills Gold Club on the weekend.

It was an interesting weekend for the RJ Golf Apparel Hills Golf Club pennant sides.

The Division 1 side took another good step towards their defence of their Pennant title with a 3 -2 win away against Windaroo.

On a wet afternoon, the team competed very well in tough conditions.

The fourball pairing of Wayne Wang and Naoki Sekito went down 2&1 in a tight encounter with single Ryonusuke Seki losing his match on the last 1 down after being 1 up with two to play.

However, the paring of  Bright Thongsom and Ming Natchaporn won the foursomes 5&3, Ultra Namkang bounced back to form after a shock loss last week winning his singles match 7&5 with Tsukasa Maki getting up 7&6.

The three wins scored were very convincing indeed. Over the last two weeks the Division 1 outfit has laid down the gauntlet to Carbrook with two solid wins away from home. Carbrook are still the front runners, just edging out the Hills boys by a point.

The fixture against them at home in a fortnight could prove to be the deciding factor in the outcome of this competition.

This week they host Riverlakes looking to continue their good form at home

Looking for their first win on the road the Division 2 side travelled across to Village Links for their fixture.

Due to heavy overnight rain Saturday and heavier falls the morning of the match the course was deemed unplayable and the fixture was called a square.

Disappointing for both sides as these two outfits have played some fantastic matches over the years.

This week the Hills Golf Club Division 2 Host Bay Islands Golf Club looking to make amends for a tight loss when they travelled across to the Bay just a fortnight ago.

Sitting one point behind Riverlakes, Windaroo and Redland Bay all tied on eight points, this side must look to get some away wins on the board.

The Division 3 side hosted Kooralbyn in what was always going to be tight encounter. When these sides met in round one they could not be separated.

Once again they could not be separated fighting out a Square. The fourball pairing of Gary Paul and Fred Kernagahn played strongly for a 4&3 win, with the other paring of Kevin Gardner and Craig Pickering, making his pennants debut, combining strongly for a two up win.

In singles captain John Biddlecombe went down 3&2, number one Nick Hoffman losing 5&4, Alf Lizzio struggled going down 6&5 and Martin Friswell continued his good patch of form winning 4&3.

This tie has the Jimboomba team still undefeated at home and within striking distance.

Next round they travel to Windaroo looking for a crucial away win to help them climb the ladder in their pool.
